Spring is a fantastic time to visit Lanzarote as this small gem in the Canaries is bedecked with wild flowers from March to May, whilst during the daytime temperatures are starting to really warm up – reaching the mid 20´s degrees Celsius.
Spring time is quite magical on Lanzarote. Air and sea temperatures start to climb once more,and even though the hillsides in the north of the island are carpeted in a variety of wild flowers, such as poppies, daisies and Canarian stock other aspect of the island are starting to bloom too. The festival season is also about to explode kicking off with loads of traditional fiestas and festivals to enjoy – as well as the celebration of Semana Santa, or Easter.
Many tourists book Lanzarote villas at this time of the year to take advantage of the improving weather many of them arrive on cheap flights from countries such as the UK and Germany which are the two main largest tourist markets for Lanzarote. And during the spring months from March through to May they can explore the island and take in the sights or just head for the beach. Where the sea temperatures will have climbed sufficiently for them to enjoy a swim in the Atlantic.
The largest selection of Lanzarote holiday villas can be found in Puerto del Carmen – which is also the biggest tourist resort on the island situated just a short ten minute drive from the islands sole airport at Arrecife. The resort is well protected from the Trade Winds and hence provides safe and sheltered bathing. For those who want to stay somewhere different to Puerto del Carmen there are two other destinations to choose from in the form of Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise Playa Blanca is situated at the southern end of the island and is also home to some wonderful beaches, such as Playa Flamingo and Playa Dorada. Along with a number of very good quality four and five star hotels.
Costa Teguise is at the opposite end of the island in the north. And is home to some high quality accommodation, such as the luxurious Gran Melia Salinas hotel. As well as its own superb stretches of sand such as Playa Bastian and Playa Cucharas.
Wherever tourists choose to stay on this gem in the Canaries they can travel safe in the knowledge that the will enjoy fantastic weather when they visit Lanzarote this spring time. And at only four hours away Lanzarote is both cheap and easy to reach.
