Attempting To Find A Quality Hotel In Gloucester Discussed In Simple Terms Nov 19

It is relatively easy to find a quality hotel in Gloucester. The city can be found in the county of Gloucestershire in the South West of England. Gloucester lies close to the Welsh border, and on the River Severn, around about 32 miles (51 km) northeast of Bristol, and 45 miles (72 km) south-southwest of Birmingham. It is home to the Three Choirs Festival, one of the oldest music festivals in Europe. It is nestled in the beautiful Cotswolds so is definitely a city worth visiting for the scenery alone, let alone the fabulous Cathedral and the interesting docks.

In fact, during its glory days the port of Gloucester was a foremost centre for the shipment of timber, corn, metals, wines and spirits and graceful tall ships were a common sight. Today lots of the historic warehouses have been transformed and the docks with their museums, pubs and café’s offer a superb attraction for tourists.

Now – as I say, it really isn’t a problem finding a quality hotel in Gloucester, although – there are no actual 5 star hotels in the city. There are approximately five 4 star hotels, a dozen or so 3 stars and a few below that. One can safely say that all of the 4 star hotels that I looked at were good quality, ranging from classic business hotels to the more family-friendly hotel with adjoining rooms and family deals. There are also a few B&B’s that are top quality and could well be worth a look at.

As always I found the Internet to be an excellent source of information when I was attempting to find a quality hotel Gloucester. After I have narrowed my choices down then I like to phone the individual hotels and ask them a few questions regarding tariffs, places to see in Gloucester and what restaurants they recommend. If the staff are helpful and friendly then you can normally expect your stay with them to be just as pleasant. If they are surly and unhelpful – well, strike them off your list.
