The negative side of all this, of course, is that after the season is over, it probably won’t be for around another six months that it will start up again. During this break, then, we can become committed to keeping fit for next year’s season, or we can find another sport to take up during that time.
Moments when we’re unmotivated and tired will inevitably occur all the time. It’s at those moments that we need to really push ourselves, although all our desire will be gone. It’s at this point that what is within the person will have to take charge. When someone is able to have the confidence and will to push on when all motivation is gone, this points to a great self-esteem, and these kinds of lessons can live on after the season is over.
