I’d like to talk to you about boxing training. You have two kinds of boxing, fighting professionally and amateur boxing. Fighting professionally is done for the money and amateur boxing is done for pleasure and to keep fit. Both sports are diverse in nature. I’ve been associated with amateur boxing for a long time. I coached while in college and in the military. I’ve worked with people that had all different kinds of backgrounds. The weight went from 90 pounds to 250 pounds. You have those who are introverted and others who are courageous. Some come from bigger cities and others from smaller towns. Anybody can find something to do for them in this sport.
People are always starting fights and when you have the boxing fundamentals under your belt you have a level of self-assurance. The sport is great for staying in shape. Boxing classes can be found in most colleges and schools.
You want to start off with the right gear. The gear that you want to have are the mouthpiece, well padded headgear, hand wraps, gloves, high topped shoes and loose fitted clothing. Other sports with the equipment can cost you a lot of money, but not boxing. The gym will make available things like the boxing ring and the punching bag.
It is essential that you obey the rules of the sport. All coaches should make the wearing of this gear which is the headgear, mouth pieces and protective cups an obligation. If you are boxing and some of the gear is out of whack, then you should stop and replace it. No boxer should be permissible to break the rules, because doing so can cause damage to your body which no recovery can be made.
A general practitioner should always be in the building when it is open. Boxing can be a very dangerous sport if you don’t follow the rules. Not following the rules can get people permanently injured or killed. There is a great safety net when the rules are followed.
You can stay in great shape because of boxing. Road work consists of running 3 to 5 miles 3 times a week. You should run sprints as well. Just what makes up a workout when you’re talking about boxing? You can have 2 minutes rounds between two people. That is just some of the boxing training skills that I am sharing with you.
