Okutama is a mountainous region located along the Tama River, at the extreme western end of Tokyo.

Okutama originate is located at the end of the JR Ome racket. Although a few direct trains sally from Tokyo and Shinjuku, the stale coming to get there is to bring a Chuo Line rapid service to Ome or Tachikawa, and so change trains in that Okutama at either Ome or Tachikawa. The rush from central Tokyo takes around 2 hours and costs about ¥1,200 only way.
